PRAY FOR HIM

PRAY FOR HIM

Ladies, wives, those in the waiting, let’s pray for our husbands.

But, let's not pray from a position of fault finding or self-righteousness, but through the eyes of the Father, who wants to see men live out the Biblical role of a husband.

Let’s start our prayer with praise and thanksgiving and praying over the role we have as wives, as God might want to grow our characters as well.

( You can personalize this prayer by inserting your husband's name in place of “him” or “my husband”)

Heavenly Father, Who art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy name, I come before Your presence in praise and adoration, with thanksgiving, thank you for the role You assigned to me as my husband's helpmate. I ask for wisdom and strength to be the helpmate of the man you blessed me with. Help me to see him through Your eyes and everything You created him to be so that I can help build him up.

Help me to be a wife who reverences her husband, a wife whom my husband trusts. God, help me to become a wise wife that builds the home, not tears it down. (Proverbs 14:1)

Heavenly Father, I pray that You will strengthen our marriage, that we will stand in agreement and unity as one, and that You, Lord will always be enthroned at the center of our heart and home. For Your word says, that a cord of 3 strands is not easily broken.

Father, I pray that my husband is a man after Your heart, a man of valor, walking in the ways of the Lord and seeking You first in all that he does.

I pray he loves me like Jesus loves the Church and gave Himself for the Bride.

I pray that he is emotionally whole and that You would heal any trauma and wounds that he lived through. Remove offense and bitterness from his heart.

Comfort and heal any disappointments.

Soften his heart to receive Your word and correction. Break any strongholds of ________________ that have been entangling him.

Father, I pray that my husband is rooted in the Word and knows his identity in Christ. That worldly possessions do not define him. That he walks in boldness and not in pride. I pray that he is a humble servant to You, Lord, that he is a good steward of everything You entrusted him with and he is fruitful in all his endeavors. That everything he puts his hands to prospers.

I ask that you grant him wisdom and discernment to be a strong leader of this family and fulfill the calling you placed on his life. Lord, I pray that You guide him into a position at work that is gratifying and fulfilling. That he can enjoy the good of all his labor, for You Lord make one rich, without adding sorrow to it.

Help him to carry any burdens, and remind him that he doesn't have to carry them alone. I pray that he has rest for his soul.

Lord, create in him a clean heart and renew a steadfast spirit within him. Restore to him the joy of his Salvation. (Psalm 51:10)

I pray that he is strong and courageous. Strengthen him where he is weak. I pray that Your hand guides him safely and Your grace goes before him. I declare that no weapon formed against him shall prosper.

Father, I pray that he relies not on his own understanding, but trusts in You and all Your ways. I pray that the eyes of his understanding be enlightened; that he may know what is the hope of his calling, and what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints.

I pray that You give him a sound mind. That he doesn’t entertain any lies and doubts but stands on Your word and faithfulness. I pray that he brings every thought captive and into the obedience of Christ. I pray that he doesn't depart from your word but meditates on it day and night. Free him from any limiting beliefs, especially ______________.

I pray that he is an honorable vessel to be used by the Holy Spirit, walking in the fruits of the Holy Spirit. That the words he speaks are life-giving, always spoken in love, and bring you honor.

I pray that he is in good health all the days of his life and that his soul prospers. For by His stripes, he was healed and made whole. I pray that he is blessed coming in and going out.

I pray that he has sincere godly friends and elders who will pour into him, leading him into spiritual growth and maturity. I pray that he is surrounded by mentors who will encourage him, sharpen him, and challenge him in his decision-making. I ask that you remove anyone not for him from his life.

I pray that you would kindle the flame in his heart for a desire to seek you more, Lord.  To become a man that can mentor and disciple others, for Your Glory.

Lord, lead him not into temptation but deliver him from all evil.

And finally, I pray that my husband acts justly, loves mercy,  and walks humbly with your God

In Jesus' Name, AMEN!
